What is the difference between a deadlock and a slamlock?

A deadlock is a lock which is used as and when the driver wishes to use them. These are used especially on cab doors where the thief can access the internal locking mechanism via a broken window or when additional locks are required for the cargo area. A slamlock does not require driver intervention to operate as it is permanently engaged until the driver wishes to open it via the key provided; then as soon as he closes the door again it is lock and shut.
